Bilateral Hip Osteoarthritis – Pelvis radiograph reveals severe bilateral hip osteoarthritis characterized by joint spaced narrowing, cystic changes and severe osseous productive changes and remodeling of the femoral head and acetabulum.

This case illustrates the classic findings of hip osteoarthritis including joint space narrowing, subchondral cysts, and osteophytes or osseous productive changes. Osteoarthritis most commonly presents with morning stiffness and pain related to use, and is very common in patients older than 65 years of age. It is classified as either primary or secondary. Secondary causes should be entertained in younger patients, and these include femoracetabular impingement syndrome, developmental dysplasia of the hip, and ankylosing spondylitis (see image below).

  1. I also had different lab and xray procedures because I OA when I was a teenager. My parents had me go through physical therapy but since there were no signs of improvement, they have decided to give stem cell treatment a go. My stem cell therapy went really fine, as I expected. I could tell that my orthopedic surgeon (he’s name is Joseph Purita) is a well experienced doctor.
